Portage Bay has created the Modular Date Range Chooser which can easily be added to your solution, either by copying and pasting the components into your existing solution, or linking the file as an external widget file. I am currently in the process of uploading this to modularfilemaker.org so it will be available to any FileMaker developer.
We are pleased to announce the release of our Map Widget v.1.0 product. This is a new tool built natively with FileMaker which can be easily integrated into your existing FileMaker solution. The Map Widget provides you with the ability to display your FileMaker data as locations on a Google Map, using the Google Maps clustering functionality. You can easily interact with the Google Map, click on each pin, display details about the location, and even click a link to return you to that specific record in your FileMaker solution.
If you have been using Google Maps in any of your solutions or projects, you might have noticed some changes recently. You likely received an email announcement from Google letting you know about a pricing change, or you might have experienced a slightly dimmed watermark on your map stating “for development purposes only”. This is a gentle reminder that things have changed of late.
Grapevine, Texas in August may not be the first place most people would choose to spend a week in August. It's pretty warm. On the positive side, the parks and public places are pretty quiet. I visited Dealey Plaza, the site of John F Kennedy’s assassination as well as a Trinity Audubon center south of Dallas and both were pleasantly uncrowded. For FileMaker Devcon 2018, Grapevine was a pretty great location! The Gaylord Texan hotel is huge. I easily walked 2 to 3 miles a day just getting around the conference center and hotel. Good Exercise :)
Portage Bay Solutions is now certified in the latest version of the FileMaker Platform, FileMaker 17. Kate took the certification exam recently and successfully passed, adding version 17 to her growing list of 8 FileMaker certifications.
The annual FileMaker developers conference (Devcon) is coming up soon. Something we always look forward to at Portage Bay, this year the conference is in Dallas, Texas. Thank goodness for air conditioning!
