Many of you have known Mike Ross, founder of Ross Digital, LLC, for many years and are aware of his expertise as a FileMaker developer and his likability as a person. We’re delighted to announce that he has now joined the Portage Bay Solutions team!
Mike brings his wealth of experience, along with his approachability, to his new role as Business Strategist and Senior Application Developer. He is customer-focused with a goal of improving processes and workflows while keeping a keen eye on ROI.
Mike holds two bachelor’s degrees – one in computer sciences and one in fine arts – and Claris FileMaker has allowed him to put those skills to good use for over three decades. His company, Ross Digital, LLC, has provided solid expertise across a diverse number of industries: legal, medical, manufacturing, construction, small businesses, and non-profits.
Along with our excitement that Mike will be joining our team of FileMaker developers, we also welcome his clients, who are now valued clients of Portage Bay.
The Claris FileMaker community has long been an integral part of Mike’s focus. He ran the Northwest FileMaker User Group for seven years and has been a frequent speaker at FileMaker conferences. He also managed the Western Washington Meetup before it became Claris Beyond, where Mike continues to be active in its administration and direction.
You may have caught his presentation in January, “A Case Study: Collecting Data in Developing Countries”. If not, watch it on YouTube and see how Mike helped streamline the data processes of Water For Good, an NGO working in the Central African Republic to provide sustainable, clean water sources for its communities.
NOTE - This month’s Claris Beyond meeting will take place on Wednesday, 7/24/24, instead of our usual third Wednesday. So you can still catch it! We will be joined by Claris product management staff Sangita Banerjee and Douglas Wallis, who will help us explore FileMaker 2024, Claris Cloud, and Claris Connect.
Along with being a great FileMaker programmer, Mike is a family man with a wife, two grown children, and two grandchildren. Plus let’s not forget the two dogs, four cats, and nine chickens whose upkeep and care keep him grounded.
Please add a comment below and join us in welcoming Mike! We look forward to all of the possibilities that will be enjoyed with our expanded connection and partnership.
