We are excited to announce an update to the Portal Sort Header demo and video that we had posted back in 2016. We have refactored the process a little. It now uses JSON for variable passing. This change has removed the need for any custom functions. We also updated the object names so they are easy to see in the left panel object viewer.
In September of 2018 we were excited to offer the Map Widget, a FileMaker solution that provided you with the ability to display your FileMaker data as locations on a Google Map, using the Google Maps clustering functionality. Implementation was easy and didn’t require in-depth knowledge of the Google Maps API. Today we are announcing that we are now offering the Map Widget fully unlocked and free of charge!
It’s been three weeks since John Newhoff and I attended PauseOnError and I’m still unpacking from the experience (literally and figuratively). Not only did I have the opportunity to take part in some great sessions, the amount of knowledge gained from others in the FileMaker community is invaluable.
With Carafe Kitchen, implementing JavaScript into your Claris FileMaker 16+ solutions has become as easy as copying a script. With all the new features in FileMaker that are supporting JavaScript, the one thing that I found lacking and still difficult to overcome was a solid process for managing and implementing JavaScript libraries. After struggling to roll my own implementations that could be maintained easily, I was relieved and excited to find this valuable tool. Carafe Kitchen has been one of the most exciting FileMaker tools for me this year.

I love JavaScript, and there are two new features in Claris FileMaker Pro 19 that have gotten me really excited. This last week, I finally had a chance to play with these features and discovered that Claris has quite outdone themselves in how they have allowed FileMaker developers to harness the inherent power of JavaScript.
